The organization, based at VIR, that is responsible for anti-terrorist/ evasive driving training, needed the use of South Course in order to train those soon to be deployed overseas. This was the only day that would work and so NASA Mid Atlantic management and VIR track management Have worked together to make sure NASA members experience the same high quality event that they are used to.

We know that many racers are not familiar with the North Course so we have scheduled a classroom Q&A session with Master Instructor, Dan Unkefer on Saturday and two at-speed orientation sessions on Sunday morning. The schedule is being re-worked and should be out within a week of this announcement.

This is going to be a blast!!! The North Course provides great variety and high challenge in the form of fast, four wheel drifting uphill esses dotted with blind and double apex high speed turns.

But…keep in mind that the North Course is 2.54 miles compared with 3.27 miles of the Full Course so if you are planning on participating in this event it is suggested that if you are not yet registered that you do so soon as you can because spaces have now become even more limited.

Convenience Car Care Center
signs on with NASA Mid Atlantic as event and party sponsor in 2009!

NASA Mid Atlantic is pleased to announce that Convenience Car Care Center, Inc. of Manassas has signed on as an event and party sponsor for 2009. Owned by Spec Miata racer, Timmy Tyrrell, Convenience Car Care Center was founded in 1991 in his family's two car garage but after much success now is located state-of-the-art facility, housing a 14 bay service area and a used car showroom. “Timmy (Tyrrell) fits into the NASA family like a glove. They treat their customers the way that NASA treats ours. When you walk into their shop there is a sense of trust and warmth and they treat you with respect.” Said NASA Mid Atlantic Regional Director, Chris Cobetto.
